Bro. Daniel Razon, Vice-Presiding Minister to MCGI, announced the new schedule during one of the group’s regular thanksgiving, saying, all MCGI coordinating centers in different points of the globe having satellites will be opened to accommodate truth-seekers. The event starts at 7 p.m. Philippine time.

It was in 1993 when MCGI started holding Bible Expositions. From a small social event organized in a way that guests could dine together and ask Bro. Eli Soriano, MCGI Presiding Minister, matters concerning faith and spirituality, it went large-scale as more and more people seek for Truth.  The MCGI Bible Exposition follows a live, unscreened question and answer format. It is this uncensored format that made it unique from other Q&A shows of other religious groups.

To give way to this event, Bro. Daniel also said that the Congregation’s regular live thanksgiving held every Saturday will be moved to Sunday. The worship service, however, will have the same Saturday schedule. These schedules are in effect whenever an International Bible Exposition is scheduled on a Friday.

Also starting August 9, MCGI will have a special prayer meeting where Bro. Eli or Bro. Daniel discusses live a biblical topic for the gathering. Those who cannot attend the live session can listen to the same topic during regular prayer meetings the following Wednesday and Thursday. Special prayer meetings will be conducted roughly twice a month, every Tuesday following a Friday Bible Exposition.

Following the same unscripted question-and-answer format of Ask Bro. Eli, the Bible Will Answer, preacher-blogger Bro. Eli Soriano introduced the Twitter version of the renowned segment of his webcast and radio and television program Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path).

Through what the micro-bloggers popularized as Tweetanong – meaning “ask through a tweet,” Bro. Eli answers biblical queries of Twitter users worldwide. Tweetanong is the combined English and Filipino words “tweet,” Twitter’s popular term for a 140-character long post, and “tanong,” the Filipino word for ask. For many truth-seekers, “Tweetanong mo kay Soriano” is another avenue to obtain sensible information to countless misleading doctrines.

Bro. Eli started using the micro-blogging site in 2009 with @BroEliSoriano handle. For the first few months, he has posted a number of his own personal tweets – current events, scientific, and Bible-based – to inspire and teach the truths in the Holy Scriptures. But known as a preacher who hosts a live, impromptu question and answer program, many Twitter users started asking issues about faith and spirituality. For almost two years now, what started as Bro. Eli’s personal account in Twitter turned into a consultation and Q&A panel.

The Filipino preacher’s unique, intelligent discussions earned him nominations for Twitter’s “Oscars” awards. Last February 15, Shorty Awards announced Bro. Eli as a finalist for television category vying against the other big five: Kurt Sutter, Attack of the Show, Psych_USA, HIMYM Production, and the children’s show Sesame Street. The awards ceremony is set on March 28, 2011 at the TimesCenter in New York.

Besides Twitter, the international evangelist also maintains a weblog and Internet webcast and carries out live Bible Expositions in many countries. His program, The Old Path, is being aired regularly in South America (TV Verdade), Argentina (América), Uruguay (La Tele Channel 12), India (SONY SABTV), Philippines (UNTV), among others. Just a week ago, The Old Path started its broadcast in Bolivia.

His unique style of sharing his ideas to others made him the only Filipino finalist for this year’s Shorty Awards for Best Journalist.

In an interview, Mr. Razon said he wanted to be unique in every way not because of anything else, but because there are so many things that he need to share to people. Things that are sensible and full of wisdom.

To effectively impart his ideas to others and to help his readers easily remember them, Mr. Razon shares some techniques on how to do it, especially for short messages like that of Twitter posts.

• Be unique. Tweeting is like courting someone you love. How will you make yourself unique so you will win her heart? Being unique should come with the purest intention of achieving your goal. Make your tweet unique so it will easily register in the minds of the readers.

• Be sensible. Your listeners or readers should get something useful from what you say or write. Before you utter or inscribe a word, take a moment and ask yourself, “Does it make any sense and will anyone benefit from it?”

• Make it presentable. Presentation is important. A delicious food is more enjoyable to eat if it is well-presented. There are a lot of ways on how you can share things to people.

In January, the show The Truthcaster found a new online home at Livestream.com where it continues to serve thousands of its followers and truth-seekers. The show, originally aired via Justin.tv, is both the name of the channel in Livestream and a moniker of international televangelist Bro. Eli Soriano. Bro. Eli, who is MCGI Presiding Minister, hosts the program and tirelessly answers queries about faith and religion on the spot.

MCGI also joined Philippines’ biggest marathon-for-a-cause Isang Araw Lang – Takbo para sa Libreng Kolehiyo (Just One Day – Run for Free College) to support a free private college education project. Spearheaded by Bro. Daniel Razon, MCGI Vice-Presiding Minister, the project has financed the completion of the 10-storey school building of La Verdad Christian College (LVCC) in Caloocan City, Philippines that enrolled almost 300 scholars this academic year. The Run for Free College is part of Bro. Daniel’s Isang Araw Lang (Just One Day) advocacy, a campaign that encourages people to do acts of kindness even for just a day.

Breaking the May 2001 Church record of having the most number of baptized souls, the month of February this year recorded roughly 4,000 converts from around the globe as a result of another historic event, the 7-session Mass Indoctrination held live at MCGI coordinating centers. Bro. Eli himself announced the good news in his twitter account the day after the baptism, “I have yesterday moved a mountain through faith. Less than 4,000 souls changed camp!”

Patterned after the Hebrew calendar (the first month of which is Abib or Nisan), the Congregation celebrated its New Year within its celebration of the 1^st Quarter International Thanksgiving on the 2^nd week of March. Congregants from different Philippine provinces and abroad flocked to ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga to witness and partake in the events. It was also in March that an Italian TV Show, S.O.S. Sesso, recognized Bro. Eli’s credibility as evangelist who can give sensible insights about sex and religion. Live via video streaming, Bro. Eli answered Italian inquirers based on the Bible.

To bring the Gospel much closer to more homes in the Philippines and nearby countries, MCGI switched on another 24/7 broadcast through TOP Channel aired over channel 10 via Dream Satellite Television. TOP Channel broadcasts 10 programs including ADD by Demand in different dialects and languages.

Another very significant event commemorated in March was the Lord’s Supper. MCGI observes this Biblical supper annually at sunset of the 14^th day of Nisan, coinciding with the setting of the sun in Israel. During this holy gathering, members of the Church recall yet again the greatest sacrifice of Christ and the unconditional love of God for the human race.

On April 1 to 2, the Church youth assembled at the ADD Convention Center for an international gathering. International Youth Convention (IYC) is held every year to strengthen the faith and camaraderie of the young adult members.

Who can forget the most brutal election-related massacre in Maguindanao that killed at least 57 media men and civilians? While the government is slow in giving justice to the victims, MCGI took part in a major benefit concert, the Protest Broadcast 3, which provided financial and educational assistance to the bereaved relatives. Bro. Daniel, also a broadcast journalist by profession, conceptualized the concert series held in May in three major cities in the Philippines: Quezon City, Cebu, and Davao.

Also in May, MCGI in South America celebrated its 1^st year anniversary of knowing the Truth in the Bible.

After three months, universal thanksgiving was again in the air as the Congregation celebrated its 2^nd Quarter International Thanksgiving to God from June 12-14. In the same month, MCGI Philippines and locales abroad with the same time zone experienced their first ever midnight thanksgiving.

This September, members of the Church will again gather for a festive 3-day 3^rd Quarter International Thanksgiving to God. It is during international thanksgivings that Church members worldwide express their gratitude to God through songs and banquets of biblical topics simultaneously done in all monitoring centers.

As the year comes close to its end, MCGI is looking forward for more fruitful service to God and to the people.

With heartfelt gratitude, the brethren sang “Ate Os Ceus”, their own version of the Church’s Filipino song Hanggang sa Langit (Far up to Heaven), before the worldwide Congregation during the regular thanksgiving held last Saturday.

The historical event in the early part of 2009 recalls the Church seeing the opportunity to introduce the Gospel in Latin America. Bro. Eli Soriano, MCGI Presiding Minister, conducted mass indoctrinations following a series of live Bible Expositions in different parts of the continent. At first baptism, 263 natives were converted forming the first locale in South America.

Vice-Presiding Minister Bro. Daniel Razon personally greeted the brethren a joyful celebration of thanksgiving to God during his discussion of last Saturday’s biblical topic. Before he ended his discussion, he gratefully announced that Bro. Resty Reyes, one of the Assistants to the Administration, was in India and has informed him that the Church’s missionary works in the second most populous country in the world has already started.

As prophesied in the book of Matthew, the Church now introduces the Word of God in many parts of the world. Through the phenomenal television program Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path), MCGI brought in the Good News to the homes of many people in the United States of America, Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia, and Africa. In South America, TV Verdade airs the program 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Extreme heat for months now has made Philippines a square-of-puzzle dry land.  Farmers have to harvest their crops earlier than the scheduled season just to save what can be saved in their investments. Water shortage is expected in a few weeks all over the Philippines. Filipinos in all places hope for a rain for months now, but no rain falls not until today.

Less than 24 hours before the start of the thanksgiving celebration of Members Church of God International, the sky poured drops of rain in Apalit, Pampanga where most members of the Congregation are heading to.  The drizzle, just enough to wet the arid land, provided significant relief to the members traveling for long hours under a scourging heat.  Congregants travel from different Philippine regions and other countries to ADD Convention Center to participate in the 1^st Quarter International Thanksgiving.

This global celebration of the MCGI will last for three days starting this Saturday, March 13. Live monitoring is set up in major MCGI locales worldwide to accommodate attendees who cannot come to ADD Convention Center.

International Thanksgiving is a major event that MCGI holds every quarter.  Through Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon, MCGI Presiding and Vice-Presiding Ministers, members were taught to acknowledge God’s goodness at all times.

Members Church of God International reaped roughly 4,000 souls in a historic one-day Mass Baptism held yesterday at MCGI Coordinating Centers all over the Philippines.

The number of converts was the biggest in the Church baptism history exceeding the most number of baptized souls recorded in the Bible (The Acts 2:41).

Bro. Eli Soriano, MCGI Presiding Minister, recounted this momentous event on his Twitter account http://twitter.com/BroEliSoriano.

“I have yesterday moved a mountain through faith. Less than 4,000 souls changed camp!” he tweeted.

In his closing sermon during the baptism rite, Bro. Eli welcomed the newly baptized and reminded them to stay in faith and hold on to the doctrines of Christ until the end.  He also encouraged them to offer thanksgiving to God as it is the first good thing they need to do to express their gratitude to Him.  The ceremony lasted for about 11 hours.

This mass baptism was the result of the 7-day Live Mass Indoctrination conducted by Bro. Eli that started last February 8.  On the first day of the indoctrination, 12,000 visitors crowded the MCGI locales as reported by Bro. Daniel Razon, the Church Vice-Presiding Minister.

MCGI regularly conducts weekly baptism at ADD Convention Center in Pampanga, the Church headquarters, and mass baptism after every mass indoctrination session.  Every baptism yields hundreds of God-abiding people.

His six to ten tweets daily is now a collection of advices for couples, parents, children, friends, and even enemies. Some are reminders to always acknowledge God’s goodness. His collected tweets also include answers to inquiries and concerns about faith, health, and matters of general subjects.

To parents: show concern for your children, it’s more than money and allowances.

To children: a kiss for a dad or mom will boost their immune system, and will relieve them of the pains and heaviness of old age.

To husbands and wives, give your partners a hug and a sweet kiss and whisper “I love you more than ever.” It’s more than a blow out.

A new morning means a new hope, a new endeavor, a new struggle, but with the Lord by our side it’s a new day of goodness for his people.
